Monitoring the coverage of Sudan 2010 elections

This report presents a comprehensive analysis on media freedom, access, transparency, and the level of diversity in voices within the public domain during the recently concluded Sudan National Elections (April 2010) and leading up to the South Sudan Referendum (January 2011)

The media play a critical role in disseminating information and thereby serve as a catalyst for dialogue between the State and citizens. During election pe- riods, the media also serve as a platform for political and civil society voices by providing space to articulate policy priorities of competing parties, whilst also generating debate.
