IMS staff to work from home

In support of global precautions and Danish authorities’ efforts to halt further spreading of Covid-19 all headquarter-based staff are asked to work from home, effective from Thursday 12 March and until further notice.

This is a communique on measures taken by International Media Support (IMS) in relations to the unfolding spread of Covid-19

For International Media Support the safety and health of staff and partners are paramount. Considering global precautions put in place to curb COVID-19 and in recognition of our civic duty to protect those most vulnerable in society, IMS management have decided to ask staff in Denmark to continue working from home. The headquarter office will be closed effective from Thursday March 12 for a minimum of two weeks or until further notice. All international work-related travel has been suspended.

The office closure is fully in line with Danish authorities’ recommendations and our duty of care to staff, consultants, partners and the community at large. By asking staff in Denmark to work from home IMS hopes to contribute to alleviating pressure on the Danish health care system.

IMS offices in other countries continue to adhere to national guidelines and measures put in place at local level. IMS staff outside of Denmark are provided with daily updates.

It is important to note that at this present time no IMS staff member has been affected by COVID-19 and that travel activity across IMS is virtually zero.

Business continuity plans are in place and IMS management and staff are in dialogue with donors and partners regarding any short-term implications for activities and programmes.

Wednesday 11 March The Danish Government invoked a set of restrictive measures to halt further spreading of Covid-19. The Danish Prime Minister encouraged a near-total shot-down of all activities involving groups of people gathering and restricted public transportation. Education institutions, public schools and cultural institutions will be closed for a minimum of two weeks, effective from Monday March 16.

As the situation evolves this text will be updated accordingly.
