Multiple risks: The safety of women journalists in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine

The study, published in Russian, aims to assess the current situation regarding the safety of women journalists from an intersectional perspective in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

This overview is written by Elizaveta Kuzmenko, Ukrainian media expert on gender equality and journalistic ethics, head of the non-governmental organisation, the association “Women in Media,” and member of the Commission on Journalistic Ethics. The survey and the data for the report were prepared by Iryna Zemlyana, a Ukrainian media expert and journalist safety trainer who works at the Institute of Mass Information (IMI). This report is a regional data-driven overview covering six countries. The overall aim of the study is to assess the current situation with regard to the safety of women journalists from an intersectional perspective in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
