Dear Ethiopian colleagues, partners and other friends of Ethiopia:

It is with great joy that International Media Support extend our congratulations to His Excellency Doctor Abiy Ahmed Ali, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia on being the 100th recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. He is awarded for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighboring Eritrea.

This award highlights the progress made under Doctor Abiy’s leadership as Prime Minister and brings honor to Ethiopia, the African continent and its people.

Ensuring peace, reconciliation and national unity is a major achievement and must continue to be a priority. With this award, IMS sincerely hope that Doctor Abiy will continue to be committed to the values of democracy and to work for inclusive development.

At a time when press freedom is under pressure worldwide, Ethiopia under Doctor Abiy’s leadership has worked to widen the political space, strengthen freedom of the press and transform Ethiopia’s economy.
