New IMS programme will empower Ukrainian youth through journalism and documentary film

IMS is launching a new short term programme targeting youth in Ukraine. The programme will work with both documentary film and journalism generating public interest content made by, about and for young audiences.

On the documentary side the programme will establish Ukrainian-Danish co-productions, while developing the local talents through twinning activities and workshops in Ukraine. In parallel, we will focus on connecting to the central national institutions and festivals with a view to possible collaboration.

As for journalism we will work with young Ukrainian and Danish media talents aiming to increase the level of knowledge, skills, and experience through professional collaboration. This is linked up to twinning between flow and online medias in the two countries.

With this project IMS will identify and build on what is already present in Ukraine; organisations and young talents who have the will and the need to express themselves. We want to establish corporation and twinning between individuals and organisations in Ukraine and Denmark with perspectives of reaching beyond the current project cycle.

The programme kicks off this summer and runs until the end of 2021. It is funded by Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the overall objective that young people organise themselves democratically and are active participants in the Ukrainian society in and through media while meeting standards of diversity, gender-sensitivity and professional ethics.
