10 years of partnerships between the Arab world and Denmark

On 15 November 2013, Danish and Arab organisations came together to mark the 10 year anniversary of the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme which aims to promote reform and democratisation through dialogue and partnerships between the Arab world and Denmark

More than 600 Arab and 200 Danish partners have worked together on issues such as women, youth, culture, media, human rights and more since the programme was launched by the Danish government in 2003.

Funds from this programme have since 2004 helped to ensure that IMS could work in the Arab region and North Africa (MENA) to strengthen independent and professional media to improve the conditions for access to information and media freedom in the region.

The event in Copenhagen on 15 November was an opportunity to highlight some of the many successful partnerships that are taking place between Danish and Arab organisations as well as debate the challenges that lie ahead for a region in transition. Look at what some of the partners had to say in this short video from the event produced by International Media Support (IMS).
